Blue Ridge Animal Hospital
Dr. Jessica Tracy, like many in her profession, has known she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age. She received her Biology degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, and then headed north to Starkville, MS to complete her veterinary degree at Mississippi State University. Loving to travel, Dr. Tracy decided that while she was learning the art of veterinary medicine, she also wanted to experience the United States. She practiced mixed animal medicine in Casper, WY after she graduated. While there, she elected to pursue her MBA degree with the desire to one day own a clinic of her own. She received her MBA from Colorado State University in 2013. She then traveled to Yuma, AZ where she practiced small animal and exotic medicine while enjoying the desert. She was approached by AAHA to engage in a pilot program for mentoring younger, recently graduated veterinarians and was requested to travel to Franklin, NC to do so. While performing her duties as a veterinarian and mentor there, she was seeking to pursue her dream of clinic ownership. In November 2013, she became the proud new owner of what she considers the most amazing practice in the United States that is still growing and making improvements to the overall health and well-being of pets and clients. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her ‘farmella,’ triathalons, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and skiing.
