Dr. Eleanor Green holds the Carl B. King deanship of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in College Station, Texas. Dr. Green is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Large Animal, and Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Certified in Equine Practice. Dr. Green received her BS degree in Animal Science from the University of Florida and was awarded her DVM from Auburn University. After graduation she established a veterinary practice in Mississippi as a partner/owner. Subsequently, she became one of the founding faculty members of the new College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. Her academic appointments have included:

• Equine faculty member at Middlebush Equine Center at the University of Missouri;
• Head of the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and Director of the Large Animal Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at the University of Tennessee;
• Chair of the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and Chief of Staff of the Large Animal Hospital at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine;
• Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University

Dr. Green has served as president of three national organizations, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and American Association of Veterinary Clinicians. She has contributed to numerous committees in many professional veterinary and animal industry organizations. She has been an active member of Rotary International in Missouri, Tennessee, and Florida, having served as President of the Rotary Club of Gainesville.

Dr. Green has received a number of awards and recognitions. She was awarded the 2011 Wilford S. Bailey Distinguished Alumni Award from Auburn University, the 2004 CALS Award of Distinction from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Florida, and the 1999 AAVC Faculty Achievement Award. She received the 2012 Women’s Progress Award for Administration at Texas A&M University. In 2013, she was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame. She was targeted by Veterinary Practice News as one of the 14 veterinarians to watch in 2014.
