Dan Swenson

Dan Swenson is a 2005 graduate of the Utah Career College, where he graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. At the time of graduation he was working in a small animal practice and was also hired at an after hours emergency clinic where he had completed his externship. In 2006 Dan decided to move to Boise, Idaho where he began working at a veterinary specialty surgical center. While there he learned a great deal about anesthesia and assisting in surgery.

Dan has always enjoyed educating clients and other people. In 2009 he became the Clinical Coordinator for the Veterinary Technician Program at the Brown Mackie College in Boise. There he helped build the program and the curriculum. He has since became the Program Director and enjoys sharing his passion for the Veterinary Technology profession with future Vet Technicians.

Dan was elected to the NAVTA Board in 2012 as a member at large and currently serves as the 2015 NAVTA President. He strongly believes in the veterinary technician profession and wants to help in whatever way he can to build the profession and help technicians receive the recognition they deserve. In 2013 he earned his Bachelors Degree from Argosy University and looks forward to continuing his education in the future. Dan has been married for 13 years and has four sons. He also has a Toy Poodle named Sassy and a rat named Chuck. He is very active in his Church and in his spare time he enjoys Cycling, Running, riding ATV’s and recently completed his first triathlon.
